Apple applied for patent for crack-resistant glass technology
[China Glass Network] Apple Group, a well-known smartphone and PC manufacturer, has applied for a patent on crack-resistant glass technology to solve the potential problems that are currently plagued by smartphones. It is reported that this technology will be used in the new generation of Iphone.
The technology uses an adjustable shock pad between the glass and the device. When the device with this technology is dropped, the built-in acceleration period will immediately issue a warning indication, and the shock pad will expand rapidly, reducing the impact on the glass when the device is dropped.
According to Patently Apple, the patent also uses special materials for more flexible screens. Apple is also working on waterproof sealing research to increase the durability of smartphones.
This crack-resistant glass patented technology should be a wise investment for the Apple Group. In January of this year, an Iphone user named Donald Le Buhn filed a lawsuit in court that Apple's new equipment was using a poor quality glass screen. It is reported that Amazon has also been studying the solution to deal with the drop of mobile phones, and applied for a patent in August, plans to place a micro airbag in the mobile phone to prevent the screen of the mobile phone from breaking. This patent also applies an accelerometer to detect the status of the phone. Apple and Amazon are expected to be potential competitors for next-generation devices.
