sew and tell: lisette pajamas B6296

A couple of months ago, I wrapped up these pajamas and hung them in my closet, patiently waiting for their moment in front of the camera. Finally, it's time to break them in and enjoy their comfort! I love how certain clothes feel better the more you wear them, almost becoming an extension of yourself. Does anyone else experience that? ![pjs-b6296](#) Hi, I'm Liesl Gibson. You can find me around here on the web. For this project: - **Pattern:** Lisette B6296 - **Fabric:** Liberty Tana Lawn The fabric was a dream to work with! When I visited Italy last October, I made it my mission to pick up Liberty fabric for these pajamas. The lawn feels amazing both during sewing and while wearing it. Plus, I’ve always been a fan of lightweight, classic prints. Coincidentally, the price at the trade show was fantastic—way below retail—and allowed me to grab 3 1/4 meters without breaking the bank. Sewing went smoothly. I sized up to a 10 for the top and a 12 for the pants based on my measurements. The fit is spot-on—loose but not overly baggy, just like my favorite pair. Though, next time, I’ll skip the extra length I added to the sleeves and top. It’s already comfortable without them. I couldn’t resist adding piping, and honestly, it was a blast. Sewing piping isn’t nearly as intimidating as it seems. Once I basted it onto the fabric, it was just a matter of pinning and stitching close to the edge with a zipper foot. I even used the same foot to edge-stitch the piping after pressing the seams. Surprisingly, it went faster than anticipated, especially considering how many places I incorporated it: collar edges, pockets, and cuffs included. The best part? These pajamas feel incredible! By sheer coincidence, I tore the elbow of my old pair the day after we took these photos, so these are already seeing action. The pants turned out great too—they fit beautifully and look sharp. That curved yoke on the back? It works wonders! (No, you won’t see my behind in this pic—it’s awkward enough sharing my PJs.) Oh, and I’ve already picked out fabric for the short version. Come next summer, I’ll be rocking those! If you're hunting for more style or fabric ideas for the Lisette pajamas, check out [this link](#).
