Go to "Puyuan time" to see boutique women's center to stroll
The 2009 China Puyuan International Wool Knitwear & Apparel Fair, themed "Innovation, Cooperation, and Win-Win," took place in Puyuan, Tongxiang, from November 7th to 8th. As a key economic and trade event, the fair aimed to showcase Puyuan's new image, expand investment channels, and promote mutual benefits. Industry insiders consider the Mao Fair an essential platform for showcasing trends in China’s wool knitwear sector, where both traditional craftsmanship and modern fashion converge.
On the morning of November 7, the "Puyuan Time" exhibition center officially opened. Featuring five halls, the center was designed with a chronological layout: "Puyuan Past Time," "Puyuan Present Time," and "Puyuan Future Time." These spaces guided visitors through Puyuan’s rich history, from its founding in 1128 to its current status as a globally recognized town known for its sweater industry. The exhibition highlighted Puyuan’s development over 880 years, including its transformation into the National Sweater Distribution Center.
In addition, the 320 Creative Square, part of the Puyuan Plaza project, officially launched during the fair. The event saw Puyuan sign strategic cooperation agreements with 11 universities and research institutes. This initiative aims to attract high-end service industries such as fashion design, brand planning, and software development, marking a shift from manufacturing to innovation in the local sweater industry.
On November 8, the Puyuan Investment Seminar witnessed the signing of nine projects, including three foreign-funded ventures totaling $37.56 million and six domestic projects worth 488 million yuan. Meanwhile, the Puyuan Couture Boutique Women’s Center also opened, aiming to become China’s first women’s trading base. Spanning 50,000 square meters, the center features boutique shops on floors one to four, along with modern business facilities to support Puyuan’s vision of becoming an international trade hub.
As part of its market upgrade, Puyuan also held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Puyuan Children’s Wear Market. Industry leaders from major clothing markets like Shishi Garment City and Changshu Clothing City participated in the 2009 China Textile and Apparel Market Roundtable, discussing challenges and opportunities in the sector. Experts emphasized that through cooperation and understanding each market’s strengths, the industry can achieve sustainable growth and mutual success.
Zhu Mingjie, Party Secretary of Puyuan Town and Director of the Puyuan Sweater Market, stressed that collaboration is key to overcoming challenges and driving future development.
