The government of Andhra Pradesh in India raised the primary surcharge on textiles and clothing to 5% and the surcharge on all industrial products from the current 4% to 5%.
Even though textile traders in Andhra Pradesh continued to collect 4% additional tax, the Andhra Pradesh government still issued an order effective from Tuesday.
This new government order is prepared on the basis of the goods and services tax, which began on April 12, 2012.
