history

According to legend, in ancient Suzhou, there was a bright and beautiful girl who had made a wedding dress before marriage and accidentally poked a hole in her coat. She was anxious about wisdom, embroidered a small flower with a colored thread, which not only concealed flaws but also looked particularly beautiful. From then on, Suzhou people like to wear embroidered clothes. According to "Saying Garden", it was recorded: "Jin Ping's uncle hires Wu and Wu Ren ornaments the boat to send it. There are 500 left people and 500 right people. There are embroidered clothes and leopard coffins. In the Spring and Autumn Period, Wu Ren has begun to use embroidery to beautify life. At that time, Wu Guo was embroidered in the envoys he welcomed.

By the time of the Three Kingdoms, Suzhou embroidery had developed to a certain level. But at that time, the embroidery skills of the place were not as good as in the north. Until the late Tang Dynasty, this situation gradually changed. Later, with the development of economic and cultural development in the south, Suzhou became a hometown of silk due to the flourishing development of its mulberry and sericulture industry. Hand-planting workshops in urban and rural areas, row-by-side comparisons in the computer room, and Fufu’s wife and weavers have enabled embroidery to develop at an unprecedented rate and have shown prosperity. scene. At that time, the imperial court established the “Embroidered Village” here. The city has “Foshan Port”, “Rolling Embroidery Workshop”, “Embroider Clothing Square” and “Embroidery Lane” and all kinds of embroidery products are gradually developed from daily necessities. Ornaments. During the Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, there were many innovations and developments in Suzhou embroidery.

There are dozens of daily necessities such as quilts, cushions, embroidered clothing, uppers, purses, fan covers, bed accessories, pillow cases, table blankets, and bedspreads. Suxiu appreciation of the main products are screens, hanging screen, Taiwan screen, albums, etc., it can be divided into 闺 绣 embroidered clothing and merchandise. In the past, Genggexiu was used for embroidering the poems of the Shuge ladies, and most of them were painted by the artist's Chinese paintings. The embroidered articles of merchandise are from the hands of folk painters. Most of the products are gifts for celebrations and birthdays.
