The Shenzhen Universiade saw more than 800 licensed products unveiled
The "Shenzhen 26th World University Summer Games 2010 Franchise Contract Signing Ceremony and Licensed Merchandise Exhibition" recently took place, marking a significant milestone in the event's preparations. Over 37 companies from across China participated, showcasing and signing contracts for more than 800 licensed merchandise items. This event not only highlighted the growing interest in the Universiade but also emphasized the strong collaboration between the organizing committee and local businesses.
At the ceremony, attendees were treated to a wide variety of products spanning 13 categories, including gold and silver precious metals, plush toys, commemorative badges, handicraft gifts, office supplies, sportswear, porcelain tea sets, and digital gadgets. A total of 800 different models were on display, offering something for every type of collector or fan.
According to officials from the Executive Office of the Universiade Organizing Committee, the franchise program is set to expand rapidly. In the coming months, hundreds of franchised sales outlets and kiosks will open throughout Shenzhen. The goal is to have over 2,000 licensed merchandise items available by next March, ensuring that fans can easily access authentic memorabilia and support the event through retail channels.
This initiative not only boosts the local economy but also helps promote the spirit of the Universiade nationwide. With such a diverse range of products and an expanding distribution network, the 2010 Summer Universiade is well on its way to becoming a memorable and successful international sporting event.
