In April, the export of Indian jewelry and diamonds increased significantly

Statistics show that India’s jewellery exports reached US$2.564 billion in April, an increase of 95.41% compared to the US$1.312 billion in exports for the same period in 2009. The export of 琢-type polished diamonds also showed an upward trend. The current month’s export volume increased by 115.62% year-on-year to US$1.942 billion.

In addition, the export of gold jewelry in April also rose by 20.46% from 333 million U.S. dollars in the same period of last year to 402 million U.S. dollars. The export of colored gems increased from 10.54 million US dollars to 11.51 million US dollars, an increase of 9.2% over the same period last year.
