Zhejiang ** loose textile: extend the industrial chain to enhance competitiveness
In recent days, Zhejiang Songsong Textile Co., Ltd. has been actively implementing technological upgrades and innovations, playing a key role in driving the modernization of the textile industry. By extending its supply chain and enhancing product competitiveness, the company has become a leading force in the transformation of the textile sector in Jiapu.
When talking about the company’s early days, Yang Zhouqin, the general manager of Zheqin Song Textile Co., Ltd., shared his heartfelt memories. “After graduating from school, I started working in the traditional textile industry, traveling through major markets like Nantong, Shaoxing, and Guangdong. After saving up some capital, with my father’s support, I purchased 15 acres of land in Jiapu Industrial Park. We built our factory and began producing low-end auxiliary materials such as water-sprayed chemical fiber cloths and mopping cloths, which were sold to domestic markets across China,†he recalled.
Over the years, the company gradually gained recognition within the industry. With the environmental challenges posed by blue-green algae in Taihu Lake and increasing pressure on wastewater discharge in Jiapu County, Yang saw an opportunity. At the end of 2008, he led a major transformation of the company, introducing its first line of warp-knitting machines. The company expanded by acquiring an additional 40 acres in the Binhu Textile Industrial Park and invested 50 million yuan to build a new factory. Now, it mainly produces high-quality fabrics for international markets, including the Middle East, Japan, Europe, and the United States. This marked a successful shift from basic chemical fiber production to high-end manufacturing, achieving zero wastewater emissions and setting a benchmark for other local companies.
To further drive growth, the company has focused on attracting skilled professionals and investing in R&D, production, and marketing. It has gradually adopted a modern enterprise management model, transforming migrant workers into skilled workers and managers. Additionally, the company actively participates in trade exhibitions annually, strengthening relationships with existing clients while expanding its global customer base. Through these efforts, it has evolved into a competitive light textile company that combines domestic sales with self-supported exports. Last year, the company achieved a total output value of over 70 million yuan, with self-operated exports reaching 3 million U.S. dollars.
